Christmas Tree Season Opens the Weekend Before Thanksgiving: Save the Date

Opening Weekend: Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22

Christmas tree season at Fisher's Fruit & Christmas Tree Farm opens the weekend before Thanksgiving, Saturday and Sunday, November 21 and 22, 2026. That's earlier than the day-after-Thanksgiving start some families may remember, so put it on the calendar now. The season runs while supplies last, and we expect trees to go by the end of the first weekend in December. If cutting your own tree is a family tradition, plan to come early. Check our Christmas tree page for hours before you head out.

Is Opening Weekend Too Early to Cut a Tree?

Not if you keep it watered. A fresh-cut real tree that never runs dry usually stays green for about four to five weeks indoors, and a tree cut on November 21 is about five weeks out from Christmas. Cutting your own helps, because the tree you take home was growing in the field that morning. Get it into water within a few hours, check the stand every day, and keep it away from heat vents and fireplaces. Our guide on how long a real Christmas tree lasts covers the details.

What We Grow and What's Here When You Arrive

We grow eight species: Balsam Fir, Canaan Fir, White Fir (Concolor), Douglas Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine, Austrian Pine, and Eastern Red Cedar. If you're deciding between them, our Douglas fir guide compares it with the rest of the field. We provide hand saws, or you can bring your own. There's a tree-shaking station to clear loose needles, and we have a tree baler to wrap your tree for the ride home. Trees up to 7 feet are $70, and taller trees are priced by the foot. See our pricing page for details. We accept cash and major credit cards.

What to Bring and How to Find Us

Dress for a walk through a field in late November: boots that can handle mud, warm layers, and work gloves for handling the trunk. Bring a tape measure or a marked stick, since trees look smaller outdoors than they do in your living room. Measure your ceiling before you leave and subtract about a foot for the stand and topper. For the drive home, pack rope or ratchet straps and an old blanket or tarp to protect your car roof. We're at 467 Euler Rd in Brockport, Monroe County, about 30 minutes west of Rochester, and we've been farming here since 1973.
