Rochester-area apple season is fully underway at Fisher's Fruit Farm in Brockport. As of this week, Gala and Macoun are open and picking well — two of the most popular varieties of the fall. Gala delivers reliable sweetness and a firm, snappy texture that's great for fresh eating. Macoun is the one Western NY apple lovers wait for all year: deeply sweet, with a wine-like richness and aroma you won't find in any grocery store.
